Objective

This course aims to expose third year students with practical experience in laboratory. It is also to familiarize students with the use of equipment and the experimental techniques in several electrical engineering laboratories. In addition to that, this course aims to improve student's communication skill especially in laboratory report writing.

Synopsis

There are 14 experiment titles from several participating third year laboratories, namely Control Laboratory, Basic Communications Laboratory, Instrumentation Laboratory, Microprocessor Laboratory, Basic Electronics and Industrial Electronics Laboratory.

Course Outcomes:

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

CO1    Use techniques, skills, modern engineering tools, instrumentation and software/hardware appropriately.

CO2    Perform laboratory experiments with analytical observation.

CO3    Work together in a team cooperatively to complete the laboratory experiment successfully.

CO4    Communicate, analyze and interpret outcomes, both in writing and verbally, effectively.

Program Outcomes:

PO2.   Ability to conduct experiments and researches, perform analysis and interpret data for complex engineering problems.

PO4.  Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools, instrumentation, software and hardware necessary for complex engineering practice with an understanding of their limitations.

PO6.  Ability to articulate ideas, communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large.

PO7.    Ability to function effectively as an individual and as member or leader in diverse teams.
